Convenient Indoor Grilling – The Philips Smokeless Grill

Imagine ‘grilling’ a steak right inside your home. You get the beautiful grill marks, the grilled flavor, but virtually no smoke.  How can this be you wonder? Philips has created their grill by putting the heat off to the sides so when food drips it hits a cool tray instead of flames. And that makes it perfect for a boat, an RV or pretty much anywhere.

How to Cook a Frozen Steak

This technique works so well that forgetting to defrost a steak will never be a problem again.

  1. Set up your grill for ‘2-zone’ cooking – hot on one side and not hot on the other.
  2. Start by putting your steak on the hot side and sear about 5 minutes on each.
  3. Season both sides well with Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, and move to the not hot side and close the lid (this will allow you to use your grill more like an oven).
  4. Cook approximately another 7 minutes a side or until a thermometer reads between about 125 and 128 for medium rare.
  5. Remove, cover loosely with foil and let rest 5 minutes.

Grilling Technique: How to Add Smoky Flavor to Foods

A nicely grilled steak or piece of fish is great. But that same steak or fish with a little cedar, hickory or mesquite smoke thrown in, is tremendous.  And the best part might be how simple it is.
