I don’t have a video for this recipe.
If I had a photo, I would most certainly use it. That is... unless the photo I have sucks. For now, you'll just have to picture a big heaping helping of
Air-Fryer Philly Cheesesteaks
...in your mind.
Air-Fryer Philly Cheesesteaks

Air-Fryer Philly Cheesesteaks

Makes 4 sandwiches

Ingredients

Cheesesteaks

  • 18 ounces frozen pepper-and-onion blend (6 ounces are for the dip)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1.5 pounds frozen shaved beef steak, separated as much as possible (8 ounces are for the dip)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely minced

Cheesesteak Dip

  • Left over chopped cooked steak, peppers and onions from above
  • 4 ounces softened cream cheese
  • ½ cup shredded provolone
  • ¼ cup shredded white cheddar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire
  • A little garlic powder
  • Pretzels or breadsticks for serving

Directions

Cheesesteaks

  1. Preheat theair fryer to 390°F.
  2. Put the frozen peppers and onions in the air-fryer-safe, add the olive oil, season with salt and pepper and mix well
  3. Air-fry for8 to 10 minutes, stirring halfway, until softened and beginning to brown. Carefully pour off any excess liquid.
  4. Add the frozen shaved steak, Worcestershire and garlic powder. Season with more salt and pepper, then separate and mix the steak into the vegetables as much as possible.
  5. Air-fry for6 to 9 minutes, stirring and breaking up the beef every 2 to 3 minutes, until the meat is browned and fully cooked. Exact timing will depend on how thinly the beef is shaved.
  6. Meanwhile, combine the softened butter and grated garlic.
  7. Split the hoagie rolls without cutting completely through, then spread the insides with the garlic butter.
  8. Set aside 1/3 of the steak & onion mixture for the dip - then separate remaining steak and onions amongst the sandwich rolls, top each with provolone and air-fry for another1 to 2 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and rolls are crispy

Cheesesteak Dip

  1. Chop steak and veggies until fairly fine and add remaining ingredients - combine well and place into an air-fryer-safe dish, top with a little more cheese and air-fry at 350°F for 7 to 10 minutes, until browned and bubbling
