Soft Boiled Egg

I love a soft boiled egg, especially with dipping toast. No egg holder

Ingredients

  • Eggs, preferably at room temp

Directions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil
  2. Using a large spoon, dip the egg into the water 5 or 6 times - this is called 'tempering' and lets the egg warm a bit so when it finally goes in it doesn't crack
  3. Gently lower the egg and let cook 5 minutes
  4. Take out, crack off the small end and have at it.
