Cheesy One Pan Meatball Sub

Cheesy One Pan Meatball Sub

Serves 4-6

Ingredients

  • 3/4 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Borden Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara, or see below
  • 6 slices Borden Provolone Cheese
  • 1 cup Borden Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • For serving: baguette slices, toasted

2 Minute Marinara

  • 1-14 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Good pinch kosher salt & coarse round black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375
  2. In a bowl mix beef & sausage, bread crumbs, mozzarella, egg, garlic, seasoning and salt & pepper - form into one inch meatballs
  3. Heat a large ovenproof pan with a good drizzle of oil, and brown the meatballs on all sides - they don’t need to be cooked through at this point
  4. Pour the marinara over the meatballs, and top with the provolone slices and mozzarella
  5. Bake 15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and cheese is bubbling
  6. Bring pan to the table with toasted baguette slices on the side for scooping into the cheesy, saucy delicious AF meatballs

2 Minute Marinara

  1.  Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well to combine - aaand you're done
