I don’t have a video for this recipe.
If I had a photo, I would most certainly use it. That is... unless the photo I have sucks. For now, you'll just have to picture a big heaping helping of
French Onion Skillet Chicken
...in your mind.

  • 1/4 cup dry sherry or vermouth
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 tablespoons soy

  2. Melt 1/2 the butter with 1/2 the oil in a large pan, add the chicken and brown on all sides - about 5 minutes then set chicken aside

  4. Add the garlic & thyme and cook until fragrant, about a minute
  5. Pour in the sherry or vermouth, and cook until about 1/2 the liquid has evaporated
  6. Sprinkle flour over onions, mix through and cook about a minute
  7. Add the broth and soy, mix well, bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer, add the chicken, cover and put in the oven about 20 minutes or until the chicken is about 160 degrees
  8. Remove from oven, turn to broil and add a folded slice of cheese to each breast
  9. Put back in the oven, 8-10 inches away from the coils until cheese melts - a couple minutes
  10. Remove, add more thyme and serve
  11. Damnnnnnnn
