I don’t have a video for this recipe.
If I had a photo, I would most certainly use it. That is... unless the photo I have sucks. For now, you'll just have to picture a big heaping helping of
Italian Sausage Alfredo
...in your mind.

Italian Sausage Alfredo

A simple Alfredo becomes even better with the addition of the Italian sausages and onions and peppers. Thanks to viewer redcryptoknight for the recipe.

Serves 4-6

Ingredients

  • One pound penne pasta
  • 1 package of 5 Italian sausages
  • Neutral oil
  • 1 yellow onion, cut into strips
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Kosher salt and coarse ground black pepper
  • Chopped parsley to garnish

Directions

  1. Grill sausages until done (about 160 degrees) and be sure they get a good char on them
  2. Heat a large skillet over high, add a tablespoon of oil and cook the onion and peppers until just beginning to soften, 3-4 minutes then remove
  3. Boil the pasta
  4. In the pan the veggies were in, melt the butter with the garlic, and when fragrant add the cream, let simmer for a minute or 2, then add the Parmesan
  5. Stir until  the cheese is fully incorporated and sauce is beginning to thicken
  6. Slice the sausages into rounds and add to the sauce with the veggies, then season to taste with salt & pepper
  7. Mix well to combine, and serve garnished with parsley
