Makes 8 hot wieners
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 pound ground beef
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
Kosher salt & coarse ground black pepper
1/4 cup water
8 hot dogs
8 hot dog buns, split and warmed
Mustard & diced onion as toppings
Directions
In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat, add onion and cook until softened, 3-4 minutes
Stir in garlic, and when fragrant (after 30-45 seconds) add the Worcestershire, chili powder, cumin, mustard , cinnamon & allspice - mix well to combine
Add beef, and cook breaking up as you go until no longer pink, about 5 minutes
Add salt and pepper to your liking, then stir in the water, bring to a boil then reduce to a low simmer and cook uncovered about 30 minutes
Cook dogs in a large skillet over medium/high about 5 minutes
While they heat, warm buns until soft & fluffy
Serve dogs in buns with meat sauce and toppings as desired
