Smoked Salmon Pizza

Smoked Salmon Pizza

Makes one 12 inch pizza

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces whipped cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoonsw fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Kosher salt & coarse ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons capers, drained and dried
  • Neutral oil
  • 1 shallot, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 ball pizza dough, recipe here
  • 6 ounces smoked salmon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450
  2. Put cream cheese, sour cream, lemon zest, 1 tablespoon of the dill, Dijon and salt & pepper to taste in a bowl - mix well to combine and set aside
  3. Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a small pot to 350 degrees, and add the capers - let get crispy (about a minute) then remove to paper towels to drain
  4. Roll out dough into a 12 inch circle (if you can) and put onto a baking sheet, and spread with the cream cheese business
  5. Tear about 1/3 of the salmon into small pieces and scatter over the pizza, bake 10 minutes
  6. While it bakes, melt butter with garlic and remaining dill
  7. Remove from oven, and brush dough edge with the garlic/dill butter
  8. Then top with the remaining slices of salmon, the shallot and crispy capers
  9. Slice & serve
