I don’t have a video for this recipe.
If I had a photo, I would most certainly use it. That is... unless the photo I have sucks. For now, you'll just have to picture a big heaping helping of
Cherry Bourbon Glazed Ham
...in your mind.
Cherry Bourbon Glazed Ham

Cherry Bourbon Glazed Ham

This is my version of the famous Honey Baked Ham. And of course you can go to the store and buy one fully done, but will it be as good as this amazing bourbon/mustardy version? I think not. And for the record, despite what the YouTube video names is - there's no honey in mine.

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked spiral cut ham, about 8 pounds
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup cherry bourbon
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup spicy deli mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • Juice and zest of one orange

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees
  2. Combine 1/2 the bourbon with the mustard - mix well and brush over ham, getting a little in the slices
  3. Cover with foil, and bake 90 minutes
  4. In a small pot, sir together the brown sugar, remaining bourbon, deli mustard, garlic, 5 spice & coriander and the orange zest & juice
  5. Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer, and stir occasionally until it thickens, 5-7 minutes - set aside
  6. Remove the ham from the oven, and brush this over the ham and cook for another 30 minutes uncovered
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to rest, covered loosely with foil about 15 minutes before serving.
